I am the User Experience Manager of the Graduate Centralized Application System for IU Bloomington, IUPUI, and all regional campuses. I am also the data manager for student applications, admissions and enrollments. So, I create reports and Tableau dashboards on the data part. I also design forms as well as training documents for various users of the graduate application system. I also manage staff members under me.
Previous Positions at IU: Collaborations Coordinator. This was a Graduate Assistantship position where I was working for IU-MSI (Indiana University – Minority Serving Institutions) STEM Initiative where I was part of the a $1.6 million grant so we could collaborate between Minority Serving Institutions (HBCUs, Hispanic Serving Institutions, and Tribal Colleges) in the STEM field for students as well as faculty. We were able to develop partnership with 16 universities with over 350 faculty engaged with the initiative, created various programs for faculty collaboration like Faculty Research Development Institute(FRDI), faculty-to-faculty exchanges, faculty-student exchanges
Degrees and Education:
IUBSC Motivations: I want to join IUBSC so I can make a lasting difference in the lives of the staff members and to their immediate families. It is really important to hear the problems of the staff members on campus and then come together as a team to brainstorm how we can get those issues addressed with the university, while keeping in line the university’s mission. I feel that while students, faculty and staff are the backbone of this institution, however, staff needs/issues are usually ignored or take a backseat.
I already engage with a lot of staff members on various issues and try to guide them in every way possible, whether it is with respect to Professional Development, getting them the right research and data to choose their career path, or even on personal matters. I have plans to expand employee perks to other fields like technology, automotive, banking, health and wellness, etc.
